Our Story

A leafy oasis in beautiful Mount Nebo

Hello from Bunya Cottage

Nestled next to a majestic Bunya tree on regenerated rainforest property, Bunya Cottage is a nature refuge in the village of Mount Nebo, just outside of Brisbane.

There are no grocery shops or petrol stations nearby. Our water is harvested, our waste is recycled, and getting any phone reception is a climb away. With an abundance of tasty fruits and veggies, nuts and eggs fresh from the chooks, we eat what we grow in the garden and source the rest from local organic suppliers.

Committed to conscious living

Meet Marg & Byron

A former People and Cultural Specialist and Geophysicist, we met in 2009 and moved to Mount Nebo in 2012 to pursue a sustainable and natural lifestyle. Between us, we have seven children and 13 grandchildren, with more on the way.

It was Marg’s passion for knitting that led us into the world of sustainable baby clothes. One day, a friend mentioned Fibre for Good while teaching us how to dye our own yarn from ethically-harvested Lichen from our property. That’s when everything changed. We knew we had to share these incredible products with the world.

We live and breathe organic cotton

Bunya Cottage and our suppliers create baby clothes that are not only gentler on babies’ skin, but on the planet too. We believe dressing babies ethically gives them a great start in life – helping create the next generation of caring, kind and compassionate people.

Made from only premium Organic Natural Colour Cotton (ONCC), the benefits of Fibre For Good’s range of natural cotton baby clothes are endless. Not only do they offer superior softness and comfort, they also use far less water than traditional cotton methods and are chemical free.

“You might ask, where does the ocean begin? A simple answer is that the ocean begins where the land ends, but each of us has walked a separate path to the sea, and a story cannot begin in all those places at once.”
